It was like no one existed.
When the lights kicked in and the music began it all was lost. Roxas' heart would always flutter from nerves as he gathered himself together from wherever his starting point was. Looking across the stage he'd see his partner: perfect, flawless and sexy as always - - so unlike himself. The words and comfort that everyone backstage told him before he went on always seemed to melt away at this point as he prepared. He'd think he'd get used to doing this all the time but, no matter what, the nerves would go to hyper mode, his adrenaline would flood him with a rush, his heart resounded in his head. One quick look from his partner, and it'd begin.
It was a different dance every time, but always the same feeling. Like always it revolved around one thing only: passion. The music came slowly at first, Roxas felt his body move now of it's own accord as a whole other him took over. His footsteps lead him to his partner, a man: many scrutinized against the two. Two men, dancing together. Roxas didn't care, however, and neither did Axel.
Adrenaline kicked into high as Roxas bent and moved through the dance. Each step took him farther away from the millions of eyes staring at him, every step brought him closer to Axel. Soon the whole audience, the lights, the stage, had all vanished. All that was left was the music and Axel. He could see the same was happening for the other man as well, their eyes only focused on each other as if no one else was watching. Roxas twisted his legs, spun, fell - - all to Axels touch. His pulse went off the charts as his hips were grabbed and he was thrown. This was all part of it, gracefully tumbling only to be pulled back to the other mans body. Dominance was held by the read head and his commanding eyes as their mutual passion for dancing was poured into their steps.
This was why they were so famous, known to everyone in the industry. Even so, many people still could not understand how they captured the concentrated gaze of those who watched them and inspired their audience with a strange intensity of feeling. No one knew how they did it, yet everyone knew them: the passionate ones. Dancing as one, as they moved in a fashion where their bodies seemed to become a single being. None of this mattered, however. Roxas never really knew what it looked like while he was dancing until after the fact when he saw it on the tape. While in the motion he would loose all sense of self and humanity. He could care less if he was dancing for an audience of a hundred or thousand because the only one he ever saw was Axel. Despite this, however, no one would ever know - - they were lovers.
They were reaching the crescendo, the climax. Roxas felt this as Axels energy seemed to surge through his body. Again he was tossed, he felt his arms flow with the rest of him. Cross over, step, step-- he felt his style change into feather step as his soul dragged his body across the floor. He tried not to go into the reversed kilian even though it was so close then, suddenly, he took a wrong step! For a moment his concentration was broken, he could see everything so clearly. Even so, he didn't panic. This usually happened, afterall, and he was more nervous of the part to come, the one that always stopped his heart.
Suddenly he felt his waist grasp as he was lifted into the air. At that second, everything stopped and there he was, holding perfect nine. He could feel his partners hands firmly holding him and he knew he was safe. His hearts slowed as he came down, as his hand was taken and he spun once more. The feeling of freedom he felt, how his soul seemed to sing, was all because of him. Although he couldn't see much of Axels face, their emotions seem to course through their bodies. Roxas almost let a smile slip his lips as he predicted how, backstage after the performance, theyd be in the dressing room 'rolling' around as they always seemed to end up. This thought almost broke him for a second time but he regained himself. Roxas only vaguely saw the lights flash as he was dipped once more before his body came to a halt, his soul ceased, his being rested in the flawless end position with his hand in Axels while his own reached up to touch his lovers face. He was supported by Axels other hand, which was clasped firmly around his waist. Roxas' pose portrayed him falling into his partner while the red head held him up. A planned and emotional finish: just as suddenly as it started, it was over.
Roxas starred into Axels jade green eyes as applause erupted throughout the hall. Everything was so precise and sharp. Despite the bright stage light, the intoxicated gaze of the audience, and the sounds that filled Roxas ears, the strongest sounds were his own rapid breathing and Axels heavy inhale and exhale.
"Good job," Axel said and though his lips never moved Roxas heard him crystal clear.
"Thanks, you too." Roxas smiled for a split second.
Untangling themselves, the two dancers straightened, held hands and bowed. Although no one would ever know, this was the way they showed and loved each other.
This was how they moved as one.

And says his prayers by night,
May become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms

98% of Deviants don't know the difference between "your" and "you're." If you're one of the 2% that wants to punch 'em, put this in your sig.-
